The body of a missing student was discovered after nearly 2 months
The body of a missing 19 year old Purdue University student was discovered over some machinery in a domritory's utility room. The body was that of Wade Steffey who was reported missing since January 13.
Steffey who was a freshman at Purdue was discovered by a maintenance worker who was checking out strange sounds on Monday .It is believed that Steffey was had attended a Fraternity party on January 13 and then had left and was reported missing since then . Steffey apparently tripped and landed on apower transformer .
Tippecanoe County coroner identified Steffey on Tuesday.
The area which surrounds Owen Hall had been searched numerous times after Steffey had been reported missing. Maintenance staff had opened the utility room, but it is believed that they didn't fully inspect the interior of the utility room because of the risk by the high-voltage equipment.
Power was cut off during the discovery of Steffey's body to the coed residence hall until the body was removed
