Google Inc. has acquired software and developers to broaden its expertise in the areas of interactive video game advertising and statistics visualization.
The U.S. search giant bought Adscape Media, an in-game advertising company based in San Francisco, for an undisclosed sum, Google announced Friday on its Web site.
Adscape offers technology related to placing ads in video games. Google says it can add value for users, by acquiring them.
They did not say what their ad might look like. In game ads are pretty hot as gaming continues to grow, so this is a smart move by google.
The financial terms of this deal remain a mystery however. I am guessing wildly here...150 million?
