There's a new face on the back of the £20 note; it could have been worse!

Adam Smith is to replace Edward Elgar on the back of the new £20 note, but that's not news. The interesting thing is who were the other possibles... A Virgin Money survey put the following names to the public Jade Goody Stephen Hawking Spike Milligan Keeley Hazell Margaret Thatcher Winston Churchill Pete Doherty Victoria Beckham I can understand some people wanting Thatcher or Churchill on the notes. In a hundred years or so I could imagine Hawking or Milligan being on a note. But the rest? Give me strength...
