Radioactive Boy Scout

By Steve in the UK     Mar 16, 2007 in Technology
About a week ago, the department of health from Michigan called my principal,” Olson says. “They wanted to come over and inspect it. They did that, they were impressed, and it checked out.”
I Wonder Why?
An American teenager, Thiago Olson, built his own nuclear fusion device in the basement out of parts he brought on either eBay or in the local hardware store
The device that produces a plasma flame with a temperature of ONLY around 200 million degrees, which is hotter then the core of the sun, and just in case you didn't know, a similar device is used to set of hydrogen bombs
Scientist spend billions of dollars a year trying to achieve this, when all the time everything they needed was available on eBay
Although this device has been classed as safe the local department of health from Michigan didn't get round to checking that until AFTER the Olson had been using the device
Shouldn't the department of health have checked out this device BEFORE Olson turned it on for the first time?
