article imageComputer game graphics could soon be much more realistic

By Jishpar     Mar 16, 2007 in Technology
The University of Saarland, Germany had made this achievement.
Scientists have achieved this by using custom-made chips or a high-end PC graphics card. A team from the university has demonstrated a lighting technique, known as ray-tracing, using relatively low-powered processors.
In computer games they use a technique known as rasterisation which involves drawing all the elements of a scene using polygons. They use ray-tracing to depict scenes to show realistically .
Many professors has continuously efforted to develop the series of ray-tracing algorithms which is very useful technique.
The algorithms are being made available to anyone to use via the Open RT project.
