Willie Brigitte a french man was suspected for a terrorist attack in Australia and the Paris court on Thursday sentenced him 9 years in prison.
He was convicted of "criminal association with a terrorist enterprise," The maximum years of sentence for such type of cases is 10 years. Brigitte's lawyer said arguments haven't been adequately considered by the judge so, that he was sentenced a max. years of prison.
During the trial, prosecutors said Brigitte, a 38-year-old native of the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe and a convert to Islam, was a classic example of a militant trained in Islamist camps in Pakistan determined to attack the West.
He denied, however, any plans for an attack in Australia.
