Samsung Electronics on Thursday unveiled an upgraded version of its ultra mobile personal computer in a move to boost disappointing sales.
Samsung, intel and microsoft launched the first UMPC, the very small portable computer, at last year's CeBIT technology trade show. They had projected 100,000 units but have not sold that many so far. Next year they hope to sell 200,000 to 300,000.
They made alot of improvements and they hope that will save them. They improved the keyboard, battery, wireless connectivity and the size. It also has a better quality screen now too.
I am not so sure that will help them. If people arent buying them, they just aren't interested. I have a feeling they need to make a few generations more of improvement first. Still, it all depends on use-ability. I just dont see it happening.
