Man was arrested by police after allegedly showing child porn to kids in one of Toronto's Biggest mall
In most cases pedophiles operate undercover, behind closed doors and not in the darkness.
But Toronto Police beleive a suspect they recently arrested this weekend was more open about his activities. And they fear other children may have been exposed.
The incident started just before 9pm Saturday when police were called to the McDonald's in the Eaton Centre. They'd received complaints from people that a man was allegedly showing young kids pictures featuring child pornography.
They allege he wasn't even trying to hide what he was doing and that other patrons could clearly see what was going on.
An worried customer instantly called police who immediately arrested a suspect at the mall.
His name is Earl Joseph Robert Maillet and he's facing a variety of charges, including possession of child pornography.
But like most of these terrible stories, the real investigation only begins after the arrest. Cops say the 44-year-old worked as a general contractor, which would have given him access to a large number of homes.
And they wonder if there were any other children he came into contact with on those jobs.
Maillet will appear in the Old City Hall courts on Thursday.
