FBI raid New Haven police station

By soome2000     Mar 13, 2007 in Crime
Two New Haven narcotics officers and 3 bondsmen are charged with theft of government funds, bribary and criminal conspiracy.
Caught on video stealing government funds (our money):
"Prosecutors said White was caught on video transferring $27,000 in a brown paper bag to his car. In federal court, prosecutors showed a photograph of a man they said was White, dressed in sunglasses and a gray hooded sweat shirt, walking with the bag."
The chief's comment:
"Today is a very dark day for our police department. I'm disgusted, I'm upset, I'm frustrated," Chief Francisco Ortiz said.
The kicker:
"Also arrested were narcotics Detective Justen Kasperzyk, who was charged with stealing less than $1,000, a misdemeanor, and three bail bondsmen who were charged with bribery conspiracy.
The bondsmen are charged with bribing White and other police officers to recapture fugitives who disappeared while on bond."
The mayor of New Haven is concerned to learn about the arrests. I agree, it certainly doesn't look good for the community.
Conspiracy theories are never very far from home.
