Valve questions Microsoft's commitment to PC gaming

Is MS in for the long run or just to promote Vista?
Half Life 2 developer Valve has questioned Microsoft commitment to the PC gaming market. An interesting dilemma has been raised as to whether they are interesting in evolving the PC gaming market, or just in it for the short haul with a view to boosting the sales of their mildly received Windows Vista operating system.
"
But Valve is doubtful that Microsoft is backing PC gaming in the long term, suggesting that the initiative is under way purely to help increase sales of new operating system Vista.
"Right now it seems like it's part of the marketing push to help Vista," commented Doug Lombardi, marketing manager at Valve, in an exclusive interview for GamesIndustry.biz."
