Text message triggers India hijack scare

An airplane carrying 138 passengers returned to an eastern Indian city after a mobile phone text message from a passenger triggered a hijack scare, a news report said Monday.

It was a message from a female passenger to a relative that caused all the commotion. In it she talked about her fears about a possible hijacking by a suspected terrorist on board. After that the relative alerted the authorities and the plane returned and was isolated while they searched it. They found no problems at all. My questions is, why did she think this? Was she just an idiot? It is sick how the world over-reacts since 911. And this is proof that its not just an American pastime. No, in fact the whole world is walking on eggshells. No one blames them for being cautious, but it is a wonder we get anything done at all, with all the stops, returns and other hoopla.
