The NHL has suspended Simon indefinitely.
This is the 6th time Simon has been suspended and the second incident of the type to involve serious stick work in NHL history. The 2 others have lead to long term suspensions. Simon will learn his fate soon when the NHL's disciplinary board rules on this case.
According to CBC news Simon may be in hot water with the city also.
A spokesman for Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice said Friday that "no decision has been reached" about whether to bring charges against Simon.
"We are going to review the tape," spokesman Eric Phillips said.
