article image22 Dogs Left In Home With One Bowl Of Food, No Water

By RobotGod     Mar 9, 2007 in Crime
Animal control officers assisted code compliance officers from the city of Oceanside in rescuing 22 black Labrador retrievers after serving an inspection warrant at a home in Jeffries Ranch on March 2.
This all happened only after many neighbors complained about the mistreatment of dogs on the property. Officers and firefighters removed the animals, finding only 1 bowl of food and no water. They claimed that the dogs were living amid their own feces and that there was broken glass everywhere because the dogs had destroyed the house.
All told it took about 6 hours for them to move the animals out. Once out, they were treated and given check ups.
Again, some people should not be allowed to have animals. I propose that when incidents like this happen, the party involved no longer has the right to harbor animals of any kind. And if they are caught doing so, they would get a hefty fine. That might deter this sort of behavior. These poor animals are at our mercy. Most of us are loving, but some are terrible people.
