The man who cause an entire rooming house to be vacated because he left a cobra loose is now going to jail.
Helder Claro, 39, was sentenced to two more months in jail on top of the 5 he has already served. He owned a pet store at one time but was convicted of operating one without a license.
He took snakes home with him. A venomous cobra got loose and could not be found. The entire rooming house next door to him had to be evacuated.
The snake was never found and even if the snake is dead they cannot confirm that withou a body. The judge said "This is the stuff of nightmares,"
When police searched his home they found a big viper not secured. Also where he worked an employee found in a locker a tupperware container and in it was a cobra.
Claro is also charged with five counts of sexual assault and one of sexual exploitation that involved two young girls. That trial will be heard May 2nd.
He is said to have threatened the girls with snakes if they did not allow him to touch them according to the news reports.
And he also is charged in another court with breaking and entering, obstructing justice and failing to comply.
This man sounds like a real winner. I hope with the other two court dates he gets longer jail sentences.
Those poor girls being threatened with snakes.
