Iraq: malnutrition among children under five years old

By kurtrat     Mar 7, 2007 in World
An increasing number of children in Iraq are suffering from malnutrition.
Apart from dodging bullets and bombs in their neighborhoods and schools, children in Iraq are suffering from high levels of malnourishment. Poverty and insecurity are said to be the main causes of the children's deteriorating diet.
In spite of efforts by NGOs and the Iraqi government, violence and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people are making it difficult for monthly food rations to reach the families who need them most.
As Patti Smith says: "There are no righteous wars."
