article imageAnother One Bites the Dust - Premiere Magazine Folds, But Stays Online

By Lisa Angotti     Mar 7, 2007 in Entertainment
Publisher Hachette Filipacchi, the magazine group responsible for Elle, Car and Driver and other publications, says that April is the last issue of Premiere magazine in the US, but that it will continue publishing online and around the world.
Online seems to be the way to go. The magazine empire also recently closed the doors to Elle Girl, a fashion and lifestyle magazine for young ladies, but kept the Elle Girl Web site alive.
Perhaps this is a sign of things to come. Time Warner did the same for Teen People last year, closing it's print version but keeping it online.
Dipping ad sales for print publications and growing interest in online advertising continues to hit the publishing industry hard. Premiere Magazine saw a 25 percent dip in paid ads last year, says the Publishers Information Bureau.
