Not really. She's only playing a part for her new upcoming movie "Tennessee."
She'll be portraying a country star hopeful who leaves her husband in New Mexico and travels to Nashville with two brothers.
The location of the movie is in north of Chattanooga in Dunlap, Tennessee, and in McMinnville at Cumberland Caverns. The producers also shot some train scenes between Nashville and Lebanon.
"There I am, sitting on the edge of a boxcar with Mariah Carey, breezing through town," said the film's director, Aaron Woodley. "We slowed down to go over a bridge, and there were people sitting in cars.
I think they did a double-take: 'I swear I just saw Mariah Carey on a boxcar.' "
Last week the R&B singer performed at Nashville's downtown bar, Second Fiddle. She also co-wrote a song with Willie Nelson called "Right to Dream" and performed it with Nelson's harmonica player.
