Dixie Chicks Snubbed By Academy of Country Music

By Lisa Angotti     Mar 6, 2007 in Entertainment
The Dixie Chicks may have won "Most Popular" at the Grammys this year, claiming five awards, but they won't be getting that kind of love from the Academy of Country Music.
As Monday's nominations for the AMCs rolled around, the Dixie Chicks were noticeably missing from the list. In 2000, they were the Entertainers of the Year, but their outspoken antics against President Bush seemed to have made the trio's popularity go flat with the Academy. In their career, they have won 10 ACMs, but not even a nomination thrown their way this year. Maybe next year the ACMs will be ready to make nice with the girls.
