Travolta Gives $15,000 To Help Florida Tornado Victims

By Lisa Angotti     Mar 5, 2007 in Entertainment
John Travolta is truly one of the good guys. At his recent movie premiere of Wild Hogs, Travolta announced he would donate $15,000 to the victims of the recent Florida tornadoes.
Lady Lake Mayor Max Pullen accepted the $15,000 donation at a check presentation prior to the Friday night screening of Wild Hogs, Travolta's new movie in which he plays a wanna-be biker. The movie screening itself raised an additional $15,000 in donations to help victims of the tornado that produced 21 casualties and destroyed hundreds of homes on February 2nd.
Travolta certainly has the right attitude. He said that the best movie screenings are the ones where you can actually do something good and help other people. Using the Wild Hogs premiere as a platform to raise publicity for communities in need is the right thing to do. Travolta, who lives in Ocala, Florida, was also presented with a key to the city by Ocala Mayor Randy Ewers.
Disney's Wild Hogs movie topped the box offices this weekend, bringing in an estimated $38 million.
