Facebook Beats MySpace and YouTube Among Young Adults

Facebook is the most popular site among young adults 17-25 age group.
Facebook has become the most popular site among young adult users. According to an e-marketer data survey, for ages 17 -25, Facebook is the place to be. 69% of the US females in that age group prefer Facebook over MySpace (38%) and YouTube (22%).

For guys from the same group, Facebook is again the popular site (56%), YouTube is second with 19%, and Yahoo, third with 17%. MySpace is only sixth most cited state.

This data will be helpful for marketers to focus on these popular sites. It is no surprise Facebook is more popular, it has a clean looking interface with none of the showiness of MySpace pages. Even though Facebook is mostly colleges oriented, it will be good to extend that network when one is out of college also. Facebook also have mobile access of their sites, submit topics and photos from the mobile phone. Article says, teens use MySpace as merely an hangout.
