Suicide rescue at Niagara Falls

By Brandigal (Donna)     Mar 1, 2007 in Lifestyle
A man wanted to kill himself by jumping into the falls but changed his mind.
Police and firefighters were called to the Horseshoe Falls at Niagara Falls yesterday when a man was spotted standing on an ice shelf about 50 metres from the brink of the falls.
He was staring into the falls for over an hour. He would not respond to anyone, not even a police officer who went over the wall on a tether rope to try and talk to him.
After an hour he decided he did not want to jump and he co-operated with the rescue team and was pulled to safety.
