Radio station escapes fine for playing 34-second clip of a woman having sex with a bull to mock the losers of a rugby game
Dispite a ruling that the 34 - second clip (of women having sex with a bull) breached standards of decency and good tatse, a radio station has managed to escape punishment in New Zealand
The clip that was ment to promote the NPC rugby tournament back in October was offensive and played at a time when children would most likely hear it said The Broadcasting Standards Authority who upheld the complaint from a local listener.
Radio Sport's parent company The Radio Network
said while some people might find the soundtrack puerile, it was aimed at an audience of adult males who enjoyed "bar-room humour".
"The authority considers that the connotation of bestiality would have been offensive and distasteful to a significant number of listeners, particularly because the soundtrack was prolonged and gratuitous."
The regulatory body did not impose any fines or force or a public apology, even thinking that the Radio station was targeting a niche audience.
There was no doubt the clip was meant to represent sex between a woman and
ananimal. I don't know about you, but the sounds of women and a bull having sex does not turn me on.
