A human kidney stolen from an exhibit of preserved bodies and organs was recovered after two months, thanks to an anonymous tip, police said.
Police interviewed and released a 26-year-old Tacoma man about the case and were waiting for prosecutors to decide whether to bring charges, Officer Jeffery R. Kappel said. Police declined to say why the kidney was taken or where it had been kept.
It was stolen on Dec 3oth from "Bodies...and Exhibition".It was part of the show where people can touch the actual organs. There was a $10,000 reward, but no one is sure yet if it will be given to the tipster. I am really curious as to why it was stolen. My guess is that it was a prank and they did not know what a big deal it would become. Maybe it was a mad scientist who needed parts. I am also surprised by the reward money, I mean I know it is important to the exhibit, but I would assume they could always get another. Seems like a lot of trouble over a long dead kidney.
