Minnesota to jump on renewable energy bandwagon

By Competetant414     Feb 23, 2007 in Environment
Minnesota wants to be the national leader in renewable energy by 2025
Minnesota is requiring its utilities to generate 25% of their power from renewable sources by 2025. Currently, about 1/2 the power produced there is from coal, and only 8 % from renewable sources.
"The Minnesota law, which sailed through the Legislature, pushes for the use of renewable sources such as wind, water and solar energy and cleaner-burning fuels".
This is good news, and it is one of the most aggressive initiatives in the US. Kudos to the state for this plan. I hope more will follow, particularly to reduce the coal fired pollution.
