I have always been a firm believer in KISS, not the kind that is lurking in the shadows of some of our members, as heard through the DJ vines, but the rule of Keep It Simple Stupid.
When I went to post news tonight I was pleasantly surprised by the new look DJ has implemented when posting news. First I have to say, do you ever sleep over at DJ ?? When I watched the news clip I was sure that I didn't see any beds - but it seems you guys are here 24/7.
Now back to the changes. The first page it takes us to have four pictures, very clear - the green circles mean do it! and the red ones mean do not do it!
So what can we do and not do?
We can link directly to the source we get information from. I also personally like it when there is an update and the writer goes back and updates the articles or adds a comment.
The list of do not do it! is a bit longer. Don't copy articles from other websites, Don't post a duplicate article and last but not least Do not post advertising material or spam!
The first two do not do it are something that is going to happen occasionally, the third one however I find especially annoying. This isn't the place to do your advertising and I don't see how it can be done any other way than intentionally.
The next part asks you to enter 3 keywords from your story, similar to the way it was set up before because it was all on the same page it was easier to bypass it, especially for the new user.
No Duplicates? Next step!
The next page is the same as it was, and I can't see any changes added to it. Write up your article and your good to go.
I like the changes, and I also like how the site is being upgraded and that we all have a voice in what is going on. Great job again!
And now I have to remember what I was going to post the news about! I was so happy to see the new changes ;)
