In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a ten year old, boy sued the school district of Abington, alleging his religious and free speech rights were violated based on his Jesus type Halloween costume.
The boys costume was rejected by Willow Hill elementary school principal, Patricia Whitmire due to violating a policy prohibiting the promotion of religion yet other students were dressed up as witches and devils.
Due do the boys age he can’t be identified, however he and his mother are Christians and they object to the pagan elements of Halloween.
The Alliance Defense Fund, a Christian legal group based in Scottsdale, Arizona filed the suite on behalf of the boy who no longer attends Willow Hill and his mother.
