The Royal Canadian Mint's newest coin will be the size of a party pizza and worth $2 Million.
The pure gold coin will weigh 100 kilograms (220 pounds), will be the size of a pizza and will have a face value of $1 million. But will be worth $2 million.
It will be the highest denomination in the world.
The gold coin will be made to order and it is not named yet. The general public will not see it.
The largest denomination as of now is in Austria. It is a coin worth C$153,000 and weighs 31 kilograms soon to be 2nd largest in the world when Canada makes this new one.
Bret Evans, editor of Canadian Coin News said the reason the coin is being made is "It's about bragging rights,"It's about being able to boast about having the biggest, purest."
He also thinks it will sell for $2.25 million giving the mint a profit of $250,000 per coin.
Boy you will need some big wallet to carry that coin in. I just do not see why anyone would want a coin that big and pay that much for one. But then again I do not have $2 million burning a hole in my pockets.
