This is some fascinating scientific research. The video shows a monkey controlling a robotic arm via an implanted brain chip to feed itself. The article on the page describes that this particular video is a motion captured replay of a previous live-control session.
I'm disturbed by the image of the monkey-in-a-box, but the potential to alleviate human suffering is obvious. Imagine letting parpalegics walk again with robotic limbs under their own control. Just the scope of neurophysiology knowledge we are aquiring is stunning.
