Michelle Rodriguez Complains About Ankle Bracelet

By Chris V. Thangham     Feb 21, 2007 in Entertainment
Michelle Rodriguez complains about wearing ankle bracelet, says limits her lifestyle.
Michelle Rodriguez has already been jailed in Los Angeles and Oahu for drunk driving and violating her probation. But she says she asked for more time rather than the alcohol-detecting ankle bracelet she's been fitted with.
"I tried to get them to put me in jail, but they had their mind set on this bracelet," the former Lost actress, 28, writes in a stream-of-conscious post on her Web site.
Michell Rodriguez was twice arrested and is on probation and made to wear an alcohol detecting ankle bracelet. But she is not happy with it, she says would rather be in prison than wearing an ankle bracelet. She wore at the Marc Jacobs Show in New York City and painting on it in Wite-Out that says "Vigil Net Government Dog Tag".
In her web site, she posted an article complaining about the bracelet, on the second day she wore the bracelet, she got a call from the Police Department, and she said that she didn't drink. The Police department said she can't use any Listerine or shampoo, soap that has alcohol in it.
She got another alcohol warning indicator when she tried a liquid diet similar to Beyoncé's to lose weight. She claims the contents were only lemon, maple syrup, cayenne pepper and water. She said, "After about three readings from this thing I started to feel a bit like a pawn, I didn't like the idea that I could do possible jail time for using the wrong shampoo, fasting out toxins, or having vanilla in my tea."
People Magazine asked Steven Greenberg, a noted Chicago defense attorney, about this problem said, that Rodriguez's issues with her bracelet aren't unheard of for other bracelet wearers. Maybe she must have eaten chocolate cake or even a raisin or spraying herself with lots of perfume can generate alcohol reading.
Rodriguez was sentenced in May 2006 to 60 days in jail for violating probation due to her December 2005 DUI arrest in Hawaii. She served 65 hours in jail for the DUI arrest, and then another four hours and 20 minutes for the probation violation.
If Rodriguez feels that the bracelet is giving false alarms then she should talk with her attorney and prove this theory, because nobody else is complaining. If she doesn't like ankle bracelet, next time she should stop drinking and driving, take a taxi. But one thing puzzles me is that she would rather be in Prison than wear this bracelet.
Do you see or hear false alarms with other bracelets?
