Birth Control patch raises clot risk

By Leah     Feb 19, 2007 in Health
If you are on a birth control patch, please read this article! You may be at a higher risk for blood clots.
They point out that the FDA changed the labeling for the patch contraceptive system in 2005 to warn of a possible increased risk of so-called "thrombotic events," because of a higher average circulating estrogen levels with the product.
They say it is more twice as likely to get clots if you are using the patch. Blood clots cause loss of circulation, and may cause more problems than just the clot itself!
Please be aware.
