Penn State Students Dance For 46 Hours Straight

By RobotGod     Feb 19, 2007 in World
It took 46 hours of nonstop dancing, but students at Penn State raised $5.2 million over the weekend to help children with cancer.
Organizers said the money raised at the annual marathon beat last year's total by $1 million.
Thousands of supporters packed the Bryce Jordan Center Sunday for the final hours of what's known on campus as "Thon."
They clapped and cheered alongside 708 people who danced for two days straight to raise money for the Four Diamonds Fund, which helps children with cancer who are treated at Penn State Children's Hospital in Hershey.
Good for them. I always love to hear about people participating in events for a good cause. The question I always have is this...If these people had that much to give to a charity...why does it take 708 people dancing to get it out of their pockets?
