article imageYou Got Comments Debuts Comment Tracking for MySpace

By Chris V. Thangham     Feb 19, 2007 in Lifestyle
YouGotComments.com tracks users comments in MySpace and notifies them via e-mail or SMS or desktop notification.
You Got Comments has just arrived on the scene, providing a Windows application that will pop-up an alert or send an email or text message to alert you to new comments, messages, friend requests, birthdays and event invitations.
MySpace users have lots of tools within MySpace and from outside sources, and this YouGotComments tool is one of them. If you have a MySpace account and if any of your contacts send you any new comments, messages, birthday and event invitations, then YouGotcomments will notify you via an e-mail or a desktop notifier or an SMS text message.
Features of YouGotComments:
1) YouGotComments checks your MySpace and notifies you via Desktop Alert, text message, and/or email.
2) Select how often you want to receive notification on new comments, messages, etc. Receive updates ranging from every 5 minutes to once a day.
3) Completely Free! (And Free of Spam!) Built by MySpace users for MySpace users.
MySpace has not authorized it yet, but I think they will approve it as long they don't find their servers being misused or used frequently by this tool. The You Got Comments interface is a simple one just a preferences panel and a little pop-up whenever you receive alerts. With similar functionality the report says they can create 100 other uses for it in MySpace, which can incorporate it because of its huge size. The report says until MySpace officially endorses these external apps through the creation of an API, their status and continued functioning isn’t guaranteed.
YouGotComments has this only in MySpace, but I think can be extended to other networks and blogging sites.
