"John Pohl and captain Mats Sundin scored two goals apiece tonight to lift the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 4-3 win over the reeling Edmonton Oilers.
Tomas Kaberle had two assists, while Andrew Raycroft stopped 28 shots for the win as the Leafs grabbed sole possession of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference thanks to losses by the Montreal Canadiens and New York Islanders tonight.
Marc-Antoine Pouliot scored twice and Steve Staios added the other for the Oilers, who remained six points behind the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with Minnesota still playing at Nashville tonight. The Oilers fell to 0-2-1 on a seven-game road trip that will decide whether they're buyers or sellers at the Feb. 27 trade deadline."
Well, I live in Toronto. And as for the many other of individuals who live in Toronto, we all know that it does not matter at all. Even if the leafs do make the playoffs, you know they are gona get knocked out first round probably. Talk about a bad team.
I think the leafs need to save their money the best they can and buy a great player. In fact, not a great player, the right player. Somebody who is a leader who plays great. Toronto needs a new line up and they should work this piece by piece. Greedy players and coaches taking all the teams money won't make them advance, it will just earn them self profits, and they are forgetting about the people who matter most in all of this. THE FANS.
What are the people of Toronto supposed to do? Are we going to be proud of having a terrible hockey team in the city that has aquired the most fame and fortune? I think Torontonians of a whole should band together in force, and get this great cities team back on track and get the ball moving.
But who am I to say that. I know I'm just a nobody. But this nobodys opionion is getting across the world. Until next time,
Lemery
