As cranes are still lifting debris from Sridhar Moorthy's house, the body of wife Jyoti Moorthy has been recovered this afternoon. The house blew up at about 11 am on Wednesday as an Enbridge worker was removing and old gas line.
The Enbridge worker, rescued from the basement by neighbours, is in critical condition with second-degree burns at Sunnybrook hospital.
Witness report seeing 12m flames and Toronto fire investigators as well as police are investigating the cause.
Yesterday was a professional development day at Toronto public schools, so there were no students or parents at Moore Park's Whitney Public School where the Moorthy children, a boy in Grade 5 and girl in Grade 1, attend classes.
