Anna Nicole Smith's body was embalmed today.
Broward County Medical Examiner officials announced that the body of Anna Nicole Smith was embalmed today, Saturday, February 17, 2007. The ongoing dispute over where she is to be buried will likely not be settled until next week. Howard K. Stern, Smith's fiance and attorney, was named as executor of the estate of Anna Nicole Smith and wants her buried in the Bahamas where the two had been living. Smith's mother, Vergie Arthur, wants to bury her in Texas. Smith bought burial plots next to her son Daniel who died in the Bahamas last year. Smith made many public comments about her very strained relationship with her mother. A court appointed administrator is interviewing the parties and will make a recommendation to the judge next week.
On a personal note, this has become extremely distasteful. Not only does a story about Anna Nicole come across my television set every half hour, but her mother insists on dragging this out. I cannot judge Anna Nicole or the decisions she has made in her life because I have done some absurd things myself. However, it just seems to me that she deserves the proper respect that anyone who has passed away does. She always made great entertainment while alive and now continues to do so in death I suppose. I hope this all ends soon. I am sure I am missing some major world news because of Anna's mother!
