Book depository building window sold on eBay.
The window where Lee Harvey Oswald shot US president John F. Kennedy in 1963 from was sold on eBay for three million dollars.
The description of the window and frame sold to a person in the Netherlands says it was the one that stood in the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository in Dallas, from which Oswald killed Kennedy on November 22, 1963.
The window has been on display for the last 10 years at the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas. Caruth Byrd, whose family owned the book depository building at the time of the assissination, has claimed the window back. The seller had offered a "leather booklet with all the official documentation and contracts related to the window and frame's authenticity".
"The assassination of John F. Kennedy changed history, and this is perhaps the most famous window ever offered up for sale in the world. This authentic, documented piece of American history will only become more valuable with time. Don't miss this opportunity to own a piece of history."
Wow, that is one hell of a lot of money for a window. And someone from the Netherlands bought it. That is very strange. I guess the Kennedy mystique grows every year. It is the daughther, Caroline who I feel the sorriest for, as she's the only one left now.
