More Mortal Kombat: Armageddon mayhem on Wii

By Aaron Robson     Feb 16, 2007 in Technology
If Mortal Kombat has taught us anything, it's that you should cherish the fleeting time you and your head have together.
Today's screenshots are the perfect companion to our recent video of MK Creative Director, Ed Boon straight-facedly orchestrating some of the most horrific acts of barbarism in all gamedom. By clicking the Images tab above, you can get a better idea of just what kind of carnage can ensue with a mere flick of the wrist.
With Mortal Kombat: Armageddon's incredible line-up of over 60 playable characters, these are just a few of the many ways in which bring about euphoric displays of violence. No word yet on how we'll wipe the blood off our remote for a little kart racing action in the offshot, Motor Kombat included in other versions of Armageddon, but we're on the edge of seats with anticipation. No, Seriously.
You would think that amortal kombat game would be cool on the Wii, would it really be though? If you think about it, it would be great for the first ten minutes, then realise a minute later that it is absalutaly easy compared to the other ones.
I'm not talking about the computer player or anything like that, I'm talking about the one motion combos. I always remembered mortal kombat to be the game where you pick your favourite character, spent 2 hours learning and perfecting all of the moves, and then call yourself a mortal kombat expert. But now, with the Wii, you cant take the pride you would normally get when perfecting a special move or 20 hit combo because you can do all of that now in just a few flicks of the wrist.
So considering these terms, I'm missing the part where everyone says it is fun, and that they have spent time perfecting their character. Now, instead of saying that they achieved the well earned title of being a mortal kombat expert, they can say they now have wrist arthirits from all of those bloody flicks. That, is what you call a fatality.
