A violent mob comprised of regional party AIADMK had set fire to the bus in which the girls
were crew.The agitation was due to jail of their leader J. JAYALALITHA on corruption charge.
Jayalalitha maintains the violence was organised to discredit her party.
Total 31 person were accused of the incident and charge sheeted. Two were acquitted and one
person died during trial. Three main accused were sentenced to death and 25 others were
sentenced to 7 years imprisonment. The incident had occurred in Dharmpuri District.
Jayalalitha, the former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, is one of India's most colourful and controversial politicians.Even her followers pray her as goddess.
As I think the persons will definitely appeal in the higher court and their death penalty may be relaxed.
