NBC extends contract for Keith Olbermann four more years.
Keith Olbermann will continue to be a thorn in Bill O'Reilly's side for at least four more years. NBC News announced Thursday it had agreed to a "second term" with the MSNBC "Countdown" host, whose contract was due to expire next month. The extension will take him into 2011.
Keith Olbermann, a former ESPN sportscaster, has made it big since last summer with his liberal views and strong anti-President Bush commentaries and his constant feuding with BillO'Reilly . According to Nielsen Media Research, his viewers have averaged 715,00 viewers in January, which will help NBC advertisers. This viewership is less than 1/3rd compared with BillO'Reilly Show, but Nielsen Media says Olbermann viewers have increased 85% over January 2006.
Besides the show in MSNBC channel, he will also contribute his stories in NBC Nightly News and there will be two of his prime time "Countdown" specials in NBC.
Olbermann is thankful both for the NBC, for extending his contract and the viewers, who are supporting his show.
Bill O'Reilly is not gonna be happy with this contract extension. Also, Khee Mao who hates Olbermann. But Khee Mao has a good point about Olbermann, that the latter should stop talking about O'Reilly and just focus on real issues. I agree because Olbermann's rants gets boring if he gives the same message daily about how bad Bill O'Reilly is.
