Two sisters, both models, die just months apart

By Woodbine1967     Feb 14, 2007 in Lifestyle
Two sisters , both models from Uruguay have both died from heart attacks just months apart and now questions are being brought up in how to protect the health of painfully thin runway models.
Eliana Ramos, 18, was found dead at her grandparent's home in the Uruguayan capital on Tuesday, authorities said. Her sister Luisel, 22, also died shortly after stepping down from a runway last Aug. 2 during a fashion show.
The girls' deaths at such young ages prompted widespread media attention in Latin America, where the fashion industry's treatment of young women has been the subject of a lively debate since anorexia was blamed for the deaths of 21-year-old model Ana Carolina Reston and three other Brazilian women in December.
Luis Ramos, is the girls father and a former soccer player for Uruguayan squad Nacional from the 1960s. He and his wife were notified of their daughters death while vacationing.
The sooner the modeling world realizes that there is a problem with Anorexia , the sooner we can help some of these young ladies and possibly save a life.
