Emergency crews are on the scene of a house that exploded due to a suspected gas leak.
Around 11 am this morning a house located on Harper Avenue in the St. Clair and Mount pleasant area of Toronto burst into a complete fire ball, according to reports.
Police have closed off the area and there are reports that one person has been injured in the blast , their condition is unknown at this time.
*** UPDATE ***
rescuers fear another person was in the house at the time of the incident. However, as of Wednesday afternoon no other victims had been found.
The person originally injured and pulled from the house, an Enbridge Gas employee, was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital with what serious but non-life threatening condition. Officials said the unidentified man was conscious and breathing when sent to hospital.
The natural gas fitter was working in the home's basement at the time of the blast, which has emergency crew believing this explosion is gas-related.
