If you do not have children within 3 years you face having your marriage annulled.
Washington Defense of Marriage Alliance filed an initiative that would require couples to have children within 3 years of their marriage or face having their marriage annulled.
When the Supreme court upheld the ban on same sex marriage, this group was started.
They want marriage limited to men and women who are able to have children and they must have them within 3 years of marriage. They want to make couples prove they are able to have children before they get a marriage license.
If you cannot have children then all those marriages would not be eligible for benefits.
Gregory Gadow said “If same-sex couples should be barred from marriage because they can not have children together, it follows that all couples who cannot or will not have children together should equally be barred from marriage."
To get the initiative on the November ballot, they have to get over 224,000 valid signatures by July 6th.
I doubt this will get off the ground. But it makes for a good debate. Can't wait to see what Rosie says about this one.
