His wife refused to quit smoking so he asked the Roman Catholic Church to annul his marriage.
He asked his then girlfriend to marry him on the condition she quit smoking. She said she would but after getting married could not quit. She did try but was unable to quit.
Him being a health and physical fitness enthusiast could not deal with her smoking so he wanted an annulment.
He was granted it by the first diocesan marriage tribunal but a second tribunal overturned that decision so they are still married in the eyes of the church.
Other odd annulment requests are on this link such as momma boys and men who said wives let themselves go.
Annulments can be granted because of psychological immaturity of one or both partners at the time of the marriage, a hidden factor not known to one partner, problems of consent, lack of sexual consummation and forced marriages.
Maybe he should have gotten her to quit before he married her.
