Games postponed for two week due to torrential rain, now off to the races!
Nudists competing in the annual Nude Olympics in Maslin Beach sporting competition in southern Australia were warned to wear just one thing -- sunscreen. Temperatures in Adelaide today were heading towards the 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit), and the 1,000 expected competitors at the Nude Olympics were warned that their birthday suits were not be enough to prevent sunburn and they've been told they can leave their hats on.
"Everyone's welcome to either come and watch or participate," a Southern United Naturists spokesman told ABC Radio. "If you are coming down we do encourage that you put on plenty of sunscreen and obviously put on a hat."
Best bum, nude Frisbee toss, flag and sack races and Tug-O-War are not usual Olympic events, but at these Nude Olympics, they're the norm.
"The main popular one for adults is of course Miss Maslin Junior and Miss Maslin Senior and for the males we've got the best bum competition," Shane, one of the orgaizers said.
Two weeks ago this was the official comment from the oganizers: "We are down at the beach at the moment and there is no beach because the water is right up to the cliffs, so unfortunately we've had to make the decision to postpone it."
