Bare-chested gladiators, immortalized on marble panels, have been recovered from the garden of a private home north of Rome, following a three-year police investigation.
The pieces were looted from a nearby tomb dating back to the 18th century. They offer unique, lifelike images of the early days of gladiatorial combat. Very neat story. It is like finding polaroids, as these show us what life was like. These panels are so beautiful and well done. They were definately master craftsmen.
