Government seizes Three of the Sextuplet babies

By Brandigal (Donna)     Jan 31, 2007 in Health
The British Columbia government has just seized three of the sextuplet babies so they can receive blood transfusions.
The news just released that the British Columbia government has seized three of the sextuplet babies born in Canada last week to perform the blood transfusions. The babies need blood transfusions and the parents are Jehovah Witnesses and refused for the babies to have blood transfusions.
Blood transfusions are prohibited by the Jehovah Witness faith.
Two of the sextuplet babies have already died.
"It's a significant event for the state to interfere with a family. We take our obligations very seriously,'' B.C. Minister of Children and Families Tom Christensen said.
However, doctors have an obligation if they believe a child is in danger, he said.
So now the three babies will receive the blood transfusions that they need.
