Do you still have "A RAGE OF ANGELS", "MASTER OF THE GAME" or 'IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES" lying around the house?
If you do, it's likely you're a Sidney Sheldon fan and you'll be sorry to hear he passed away today from complications from pneumonia.
Sidney wrote cleverly plotted, suspenseful books that kept the reader turning the pages. And he liked to write about women who were talented and capable but feminine...the kind of women that men can't resist.
From his early days of writing poetry, Sheldon became involved in writing for broadway and later for tv. Something his fans may not be aware of is that he wrote scripts for such popular shows as
I DREAM OF JEANNIE
THE PATTY DUKE SHOW
Down the way, he decided to try his hand at novel writing. His first book was "The Naked Face," which was scorned by book reviewers and sold 21,000 copies in hardcover. The novel found a mass market in paperback, reportedly selling 3.1 million. Thereafter Sheldon became a regular on best-seller lists, often reigning on top."
The rest as they say, is history.
