Sometimes, as a writer, I read an article that blows me away - because it's a piece of good writing technically - and because it shows some good research and original thought. It's almost a "Eureka!" moment - the joy of one writer seeing another discover that perfect moment when language and thought is combined to send chills up the spine. This was one of those. I wanted to share it here for what it's worth. It offers some great information about Thomas Jefferson's war on the Barbary Pirates - a little-taught episode in American History. It also offers some great insight on the War on Terror - and some suggestions for the Bush administration that had me practically cheering out loud.
