Broadway sensation and Tony-winning star Idina Menzel will be releasing a Christmas album, "Holiday Wishes," in October.
This project will be released on October 14 on Warner Bros. Records. It was produced by Grammy winner Walter Afanasieff, who has worked with such artists as Barbra Streisand, Chris Mann from The Voice, Celine Dion, as well as Mariah Carey, among many others..
It will feature such holiday classics as "A Holly Jolly Christmas," "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," as well as "River," which was penned by the iconic Joni Mitchell, a tune dubbed as one of Menzel's favorites.
Menzel most recently voiced Elsa in the Disney animated feature Frozen, where she sang its theme song "Let It Go," which garnered an Oscar for "Best Original Song" this year.
Thanks to her performance of the song, Menzel became the first person with a Tony award win to land a Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
Menzel had won a Tony award for her stellar performance as Elphaba in the hit Broadway musical Wicked. She is playing Elizabeth in the original production "If/Then," for which she garnered rave reviews, as well as her third career Tony nomination. At this year's Tony award show, she performed the tune "Always Starting Over" from the musical at the ceremony, which earned critical acclaim.
As Digital Journal reported, Menzel delivered a spell-binding performance at her sold-out concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
