By Markos Papadatos     Apr 28, 2015 in Music
Country duo The Swon Brothers chatted with Digital Journal about their new single "Pray for You" and proudest professional moments.
The duo is comprised of brothers Zach and Colton, and they were nominated for such awards as the Academy of Country Music (ACM) and Country Music Association (CMA) award for "Vocal Duo of the Year." "That was an honor, and something that may never come again. What an awesome privilege to be a part of that group. We felt pretty blessed," Colton said.
Their breakthrough single "Later On" was a Top 15 hit on country radio, and their latest single, the dramatic "Pray for You," has garnered favorable reviews for its beautiful melodies and lyrics. "That's what artists dream on, to have a song that connects with the audience, and something they could sing back to," Zach said. "When the video came to life, it just took the song to a whole new level. We are really happy how it turned out. The story that comes to life in the video is really cool," he added.
They were guests of country superstar Brad Paisley as part of his 2015 "Country Nation World Tour," which was presented by Kraft Cheese. "This whole past year and a half has been incredible. We released singles and played the Grand Ole Opry and we got to tour with Brad Paisley. We are thankful for all of it. Our dreams are really coming true. We are very blessed to be where we are at right now," they said.
They finished in third place during the fourth season of The Voice, while under "Team Blake," and they had nothing but great remarks for their coach and mentor, country sensation Blake Shelton. "Blake was just great. What you see is what you get with him," they said.
On their future plans, Colton said, "We are working on a new album right now, and getting the songs ready to go for it. Until then, we are pushing the album that we have now. We are excited to be able to connect with our fans."
The country duo shared that they are motivated with each other. "We are brothers, and family is very important to us. We both to see each other succeed," they concurred.

The Swon Brothers are natives of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and they grew up just down the road from country songstress Carrie Underwood. They played with their family band in and around their home state of Oklahoma, and they have been performing professionally since they were both old enough to talk. "Carrie Underwood was from a town over from us. She was always in the same contests and shows as us, growing up. Later, I went to college with her," Zach said.
They love country music due to its "family atmosphere," as well as the loyal fans in the genre. The Swon Brothers listed Grammy winner Lee Ann Womack as their dream female duet choice, whom they dubbed as "amazing." "We love her voice," they said.
